AFA dismisses Aldosivi's appeal to deduct points from Godoy Cruz

The Disciplinary Court of the Argentine Football Association has dismissed the request by Aldosivi from Mar del Plata to deduct points from Godoy Cruz from Mendoza.

The "Tiburón"'s claim originated in late October when the club formally requested a review of the sanction that had been reversed for the Mendoza team. The request was related to incidents in two Godoy Cruz matches—against San Lorenzo in 2024 and Talleres in 2025—which resulted in a total deduction of six points.

However, the Appeals Tribunal returned those points to the "Tomba".

According to Doble Amarilla, the body deemed the Mar del Plata club's presentation as unfounded and ordered the case to be archived, thus closing the claim that had kept part of the standings in suspense.

The context of the claim was also marked by the statements of Mendoza's governor, Alfredo Cornejo, who had harshly criticized the AFA during the electoral campaign, stating that "the AFA is the most representative fake thing in Argentina".

For the last matchday of the Torneo Clausura of the Professional League, Aldosivi will host San Martín de San Juan, who is currently in the relegation position due to averages, and Godoy Cruz will face Deportivo Riestra, aiming to avoid relegation due to their few points in the Annual Table.
